Steel Grating

Steel Grating

Steel grating comprises vertically positioned metal bars, evenly spaced and interconnected by cross members using high-current (2500 KVA) welding, simultaneously applying intense hydraulic pressure to forge weld them into a rectangular pattern. EFG gratings are commonly made from mild carbon steel and are available with a hot-dip galvanized finish

electro forged steel grating

1. Electro Forged Steel Grating

Metallic Forge’s Electro-Forge Gratings undergo a resistance welding process, ensuring a sturdy finish suitable for various environments. During manufacturing, Bearing Bars are resistance welded where they contact the cross bars, which are fused together using high temperature and pressure, ensuring stability and a smooth, flat surface. Known for easy installation, this grating type is widely used in general industrial plants and architectural buildings, finding applications in pedestrian traffic grates, platforms, safety barriers, drainage covers, ventilation grates, and more.

press lock grating

2. Press-Locked Grating

Press-locked steel bar gratings consist of interlocking, perpendicular bars, forming a durable steel grate utilized as floor platforms for vehicle movements, architectural applications (like grilles, dividers, and screens), and industrial walkway access systems

We produce Press-Locked Bar Gratings with different Mesh openings corresponding to the area of application.

  • Load bar Sizes : 25mm – 150mm
  • Load bar thickness : 3mm- 6mm

Surfaces (corresponding to the area of application)

  • Serrated (slip resistant)
  • Plain – Smooth surface

Finishes

  • Hot Dip Galvanized
  • Mill Finish
  • Painted Steel

3. Heavy Duty Gratings

Heavy Duty Gratings commonly used on bridge-building, fire brigade driveways, Fuel Storage units etc., in-order to withstand Heavy loads.

We offer Heavy-duty gratings with bearing bar height up to 120 x 10 mm for Heavy Load environment to withstand load upto 80 tons of (UDL) Uniformly distributed load and 11.5 Tons of concentrated load with a clear span of 1 Mtr Approximately.

Load tables can be followed for designing and selection of Load bars based on the suitability.
