Metallic Forge step irons are manufactured from a polypropylene copolymer which complies with ASTM 4101 with a continuous central galvanised steel support for the full length of the step iron.
With the fully encapsulated step iron side arm protection of 60 mm, the steel bar is totally protected. Polypropylene is chemically tested and has excellent resistance to acids, alkalis and chemicals present in sewers, drains and aggressive environments. Polypropylene is also a non-toxic material.
